We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with an interest in Respiratory medicine to join our dynamic Respiratory Nurse Team.

There will be opportunity to develop within the role and expand your knowledge and skills within Respiratory medicine.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be caring and passionate about evidence based patient care which is delivered in a number of different settings. This includes supporting the ward team on the respiratory ward including in the high dependency unit.

They will also in reach into the Emergency department and other speciality wards to support with respiratory patients.

Once trained the individual will also support with clinics.

Person Specification

Experience

Essential

  • Ability to demonstrate an interest in ward based respiratory care.
  • Minimum 2 years post registration experience at Band 5 within a ward setting.
  • Evidence of continued professional development


Desirable

  • Current experience of working on a respiratory ward or as a respiratory nurse.


Education

Essential

  • Registered Nurse (Level 1) or equivalent qualification.
  • Recognised teaching/ assessing qualification


Desirable

  • Post registration qualification in respiratory care.
  • Any current respiratory qualification eg- COPD, Asthma, Spirometry.


Skills

Essential

  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously, in a timely manner.
  • Conflict management
  • Ability to organise and prioritise own and others workload
  • Organisational skills
