Southampton Mental Health in Schools Team (MHST) are enthusiastic to be recruiting to a Clinical Lead role to join the established and supportive leadership team within the MHST. The clinical lead would ideally have experience as a senior CBT Therapist, Clinical Psychologist or Educational Psychologist alongside substanital leadership experience.
The Mental Health in Schools Teams are part of an exciting service funded by NHS England, Health Education England and partners, with the aim of improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in the community. The MHSTs have been set up exclusively with schools and colleges to deliver evidenced based interventions to young people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties. Teams deliver individual and group interventions, working within a CBT framework, with young people, their parents and their schools. The teams are also working with schools to develop a whole school approach so we will be offering training, consultation and support to schools to develop this.
The role of the MHST Clinical Lead will be to support the continued development of this service alongside a fellow Clinical Lead and the MHST Manager. In addition to some caseload responsibilities, you will lead on some operational aspects of the service and offer CBT informed supervision within the team.
We are looking for confident CAMHS professionals with a demonstrable track record of providing good quality evidence-based interventions, improving service quality with a strong interest in service development. This position calls for a professional with significant experience of working with children, young people and their families experiencing mental health and trauma difficulties. We are looking for a practitioner with significant senior practitioner/leadership experience alongside the right attitude, skills and knowledge and who will share our passion to deliver the best quality care experience for children and their families. In all cases, you must be able to demonstrate the clinical, consultation and communication skills needed to offer an outstanding service.
We offer an exciting and dynamic environment where your ideas and career development will be valued. You will be supported directly by senior colleagues, including a Consultant Clinical Psychologist.
Please note that the interview date for this post is Tuesday 19th July 2022.
We would welcome conversations around flexible working in line with meeting service need.
