We are currently looking for a Band 6 mental health practitioner for our In-Reach team within HMP Wormwood Scrubs. This is a Category B local remand male prison in west London with an operational capacity of approximately 1200 spaces. Although it would be beneficial, previous prison experience is not a mandatory requirement as we provide a full training and induction package. What is of paramount importance is a genuine desire to work compassionately and creatively with service users who are often in crisis and acutely distressed.

Mental health services within the prison are multidisciplinary in nature, encompassing nursing, psychology, and therapies staff and work within a stepped model of care. The In-Reach team works with a wide variety of service users who are often complex and comorbid providing holistic assessment, brief interventions, and comprehensive risk assessments. This is an exciting and varied role in a challenging and fast paced environment. You will play an integral in supporting the team in delivering a high standard of care to service users within the wider prison.

The successful candidate will have to complete successful employment checks and prison vetting. You will be required to have a current right to work and reside in the UK.
