An exciting opportunity has arisen to welcome a Senior Practitioner to work within the Prison Liaison team with the award winning Birmingham and Solihull Liaison and Diversion Team.

This role sits within the multidisciplinary team of practitioners working within the Birmingham and Solihull Liaison and Diversion Team. The post holder will case manage the Prison Pathway of this service and provide the expertise to the prisoners supported by this pathway. The post holder will need post qualification experience as well as experience of the Criminal Justice System .

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide leadership to the Prison Liaison and Court Team.

The successful candidate will provide managerial support to the Prison Pathway supporting caseload reviews and formulating and supporting packages of support.

The post holder will provide excellent inter agency and liaison skills, and offer specialist clinical advice to the Crown Prosecution Service, Probation, Police and others to assist in making recommendations to the Court.

The post holder will be expected to support other areas of the service in both custody, court, HMP Birmingham and Community setting in order to undertake comprehensive assessments within the wider Liaison and Diversion.

** Please Note: This post is subject to Level 2 Police Vetting clearance / You will also be required to undergo vetting in relation to accessing HMP estates **

The successful candidate will need to submit an application for police vetting. Once this has been returned clear, you will be able to progress with scheduling a start date. The process can take up to 3 months - depending on West Midlands Police.

  • Extensive post registration experience
