An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust's Central and West Network to work as a Band 5 Occupational Therapist within the Community Rehabilitation Team.

The team includes the Falls Service, Community Physiotherapy Service, Intermediate Care Service and Rapid Assessment service.

Main duties of the job

We are a team of Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists working closely with the multidisciplinary team to prevent further deterioration in patients' physical functioning and wellbeing. We cover the areas of Chorley, Preston and South Ribble.

The role involves assessing and treating patients within either an intermediate care setting, or in patient's own homes. There may also be a requirement to assess and treat patients within a ward setting on occasions, or as part of a potential rotation into the acute Trust.

About us

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist with excellent communication skills who can demonstrate sound clinical assessment skills and who have the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.

The service operates 365 days a year, 8am-8pm and the successful applicant will be asked to work some evening and/or weekend shifts each month.

Person Specification Education/ Qualifications Essential
  • HCPC Registration Degree / Diploma in Occupational Therapy
Knowledge Essential
  • Ability to work effectively within an MDT
  • Evidence of supervision of assistant staff / students
  • Knowledge and appreciation of lone working risks
Experience Essential
  • Treatment of a broad range of conditions.
  • Multi-disciplinary/multi-agency collaborative working.
Personal Skills and abilities Essential
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills
  • Skills for assessing, diagnosing and treating a range of conditions
  • Ability to prioritise a workload effectively
  • Effective IT skills
Other work related circumstances Essential
  • Ability to work flexibly and travel across the Trust footprint to meet business needs
  • Ability to work flexibly across the Trust footprint to meet service needs. Delivery of 7 day working as required 8am-8pm.
