Senior Staff Nurse - Band 6

Have you got exceptional clinical skills to support young people's mental health?

Our vision is to make a positive difference to young people's lives by providing the highest quality mental health care to our local communities, to help them overcome some of life's challenges.

We are looking for experienced mental health nurses to join our new team at Evergreen CAMHS unit - an 8 bedded interim General acute unit for young people (BLMK) initially based at Luton & Dunstable hospital. A substantive unit is in development at Bedford Health village and is expected to be complete by 2025, meaning career development is available.

Main duties of the job

Working as part of the nursing team, the postholder will collaborate closely with families, the education provision and community teams in order to support and provide the best care to young people.

You will be leading shifts, supervising junior staff, engaging with and providing treatment to young people in conjunction with the MDT.

We value our staff and particularly nurses as you are vital to the running of the ward. We will ensure you receive regular support, supervision and training, and if you have an area of specific interest we will be happy to support this and work to develop your skills.

About us

Clinical Practice Lead

This post will initially be based at Calnwood Court, on the Luton and Dunstable Hospital site. Prior to the units opening there will be a set-up period, which will involve proactively reviewing the care of young people currently placed in Tier 4 unit and working with our community teams to enhance intensive packages of care as alternatives to admission.
