The Frimley Integrated Care System is transforming their services for people with Neurological conditions. A vacancy has arisen for a part-time (0.8wte) Senior Clinical Psychologist to join their new and evolving service. We were established in 2019 in an area with historically limited access to Clinical Neuropsychology and we are looking for enthusiastic and creative individual to help shape the look and future of the service in lines with the ethos of integrated care. You will be supported by a part-time Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist in the service.

Frimley ICS is situated across Surrey Heath, NE Hampshire and East Berkshire borders. Our Neurology MDT includes Consultant Neurologists, Specialist Nurses, Neuro-specialist therapies and care coordinators; there are pathways of care for people with Epilepsy, MS, Parkinson’s although our work is not restricted to these conditions.

Your work is community-based, with members of the MDT based at sites across the catchment area (primarily at Frimley Park, Heatherwood, and Wexham Park hospitals). The role will broadly include consultation with the wider MDT and partner organisations, direct clinical work, staff training, and service development / audit. The successful candidate will be committed to making a positive difference to the lives of those with neurological conditions and will have post-qualification experience working with people with a wide variety of neurological diagnoses/ presentations. Experience of working within multi-disciplinary rehabilitation teams and with neuropsychological assessment and formulation is considered essential. Completion of the knowledge component of the QiCN is desirable, but we also encourage candidates interested in embarking on this pathway to apply. Experience with psychological approaches to supporting adjustment in the context of neurological or other physical disability is also considered desirable. Please note this post requires regular travel to patient homes throughout the catchment area, therefore the post-holder will need to have the appropriate transportation.

You will also join our growing Clinical Health Psychology Department, a dynamic group of Psychologists working in Pain, Cardiac Rehab, Cystic Fibrosis, Stroke, and Staff Wellbeing.

SABP and the Clinical Health Psychology Department are committed to supporting your professional development as a clinician and as a leader. We welcome contact from those interested in pursuing the BPS QiCN to discuss how this might be supported within this role. Our department has strong links with the Clinical Psychology program at University of Surrey and host clinical psychology trainees as well as honorary assistant psychologists. We also benefit from very close links with other Clinical Health Psychology services within SABP.

We welcome contact by interested candidates who want to learn more about this role. Please contact Dr Lisa Jones-Woodward, Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist; messages can be left on 07785459503 or by email on lisa.jones-woodward@nhs.net
