This is a new initiative within the service and requires the post holder to be able to work under their own direction. The post holder will be managed and supported by the School In-Reach Team to develop and progress the role and to cultivate a stepped care approach.

Main duties of the job

An exciting new opportunity for maternity cover has arisen for a proactive, enthusiastic individual to work as part of the Swansea Bay Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, providing emotional and mental wellbeing to children and young people aged 4 to 18 yrs, within the educational setting.

This is a new initiative within the service and requires the post holder to be able to work under their own direction. Ability to interpret and advise children, young people and their families on emotional and mental health needs. The post holder will be managed and supported by the School In-Reach Team to develop and progress the role and to cultivate a stepped care approach.

The Swansea Bay CAMHS Team are employed by Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board, and serves the children and young people living in Swansea & Neath Port Talbot - services are therefore delivered in the geographical area of Swansea and Neath Port Talbot.

The Swansea Bay CAMHS Team, benefit from the strong relationship within Swansea Bay UHB services including paediatric psychology, and the multi-agency partnership across Swansea and Neath Port Talbot - the West Glamorgan Partnership. The Partnership includes CAMHS, education, children's services and the third sector and believes that children & young people's emotional & mental health is everybody's business.

Job description Job responsibilities

The successful candidate will join the primary CAMHS team and participate in a team structure that has responsibility for providing early, identification and brief intervention to promote positive emotional wellbeing and resilience.

The role will primarily support the Clinical Nurse Specialist for school liaison to engage primary school aged children in the provision of education, to promote the emotional wellbeing and resilience through the delivery of agreed programmes of group and individual interventions that have been identified. The role will ensure the childs needs are addressed in a timely manner and by the right professional.
