An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Specialist Services Care Group for a Mental Health Practitioner. We are looking for a candidate with experience of offender mental health and delivering psychological interventions to join our newly formed Mental Health Treatment Requirement team.
Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust was awarded funding by the Department of Health to participate in a nationwide rollout of the mental health treatment requirement (MHTR) programme. This is part of a wider national rollout programme of community sentence treatment requirements (CSTR). GMMH Is one of 12 mental health providers who are delivering the CSTR programme. MHTR's is an effective framework of managing risk and linking offenders with health and social care supports, however they are underused as a sentence option for people with mental health problems.
The successful candidate will be joining a new team that has established strong links with the local criminal justice and health providers to deliver this exciting new project. This is an ideal role for a qualified mental health practitioner with experience in delivering psychological interventions or a psychological wellbeing practitioner with experience in working with offenders.
Main duties of the job
This post is offered as an opportunity for an experienced band 6 mental health practitioner to work within the Mental Health Treatment Requirement team across Greater Manchester.
The role is primarily based at April House however there will be a requirement to travel across the region. The role will involve providing psychological interventions/treatment to a cohort of community offenders sentenced to community orders and subject to Mental Health Treatment Requirements.
The role will be to provide low level psychological interventions for depression, anxiety, trauma, personality disorders and learning difficulties. In addition the post holder will provide case management to the service users to ensure global health needs of the cohort.

Job description Job responsibilities
1. To undertake protocol based psychological assessments of clients applying psychological tests, including self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, and others involved in the clients care, under the supervision of a qualified psychologist.2. To assist in the formulation and delivery of care plans involving the psychological treatment and/or management of a clients problems, under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist3. To assist in the co ordination and running of therapeutic groups.4. To collate and report audit data in order to meet the audit requirements of the service.5. To assist in the development of a psychologically based framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all clients of the service, across all settings where care takes place.6. To attend and contribute to appropriate multi-disciplinary meetings
7. To assist in the design of computerized databases and to be responsible for their continual updating and ongoing statistical analysis.8. To be aware of, and comply to, National Regulations and local Trust Policies concerned with Data Protection. 9. Triage using evidenced based assessments, care plans which are recorded and monitored for progress to move service users through the systems.
10. Sign-post and advise both service users and professionals of all the commissioned serves available in Bolton.
11. Support service users to participate in positive diversionary activities and seek employment.
