It is envisaged that this could entail consultation, reflective practice, team formulation, brief interventions & training for the team plus the wider hospital staff. The direct work would enable the post holder to support clients with a range of mental health difficulties accessing general hospital such as adjustment reactions, trauma responses, self-harm, suicidal ideation, pain issues or medically unexplained symptoms. This would be achieved by offering assessment, formulation & brief intervention work. There would also be scope to take part in research around mental health liaison & physical health. The exact configuration of activities is open to negotiation with the team.

This post will be supported via clinical supervision offered by the Consultant Psychologist & managerial supervision with the Team Mger. There is a range of CPD opportunities available. We are seeking a person with an enthusiasm to work within a dynamic & expanding service offering scope for innovation & creativity. Valuable experience to bring to this post would be previous work in crisis & hospital settings, health psychology & working psychologically with staff teams.
