We are looking for an experienced RMN qualified Deputy Ward Manager to join a fast paced team in a challenging and rewarding clinical environment.

The post is situated on Meadowcroft PICU, Mary Seacole House. We are a 10 bed Psychiatric Intensive Care secure Unit that provides quality care to male patients experiencing an acute phase of illness. The team work with men with a variety of mental health challenges and support them through their care pathway back to the community.

The Multi Disciplinary consist of a Consultant Psychiatrist, Registrar, SHO, Clinical Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Registered Mental Health Nurses and experienced Healthcare Assistants.

Main duties of the job

The Deputy Ward Manager is a senior member of the inpatient team and will be responsible for the care coordination of patients and support the Ward Manager with the day to day clinical management of the ward, have excellent communication skills, be highly motivated and have the ability to respond effectively to arising mental and physical health needs, provide sound clinical practice and guidance to junior staff, be adaptable, and capable of delivering a high standard of care.
