Juniper Ward is an 18 bedded NHS male acute ward with a further 6 Ministry of Defence speciality beds.

Our well-established, experienced team is a passionate, recovery focussed group, many of whom have been working at Parklands for at least a decade. Our patients are at the heart of everything we do, embracing new ideas and expressing creativity and a new opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Nurse Team Leader to join us!

We are looking for someone who is committed to working in a recovery focussed and collaborative manner and is enthusiastic, positive, and ready to work in a transformative environment. This is an exciting opportunity to have a more direct and creative influence on the leadership and running of the ward where we actively encourage and welcome new ideas and ways of working.

We are currently working on a Reducing Restrictive Practice project, implementing the Safewards Interventions and working towards our accreditation. We like to have a busy schedule of activities, events and opportunities for collaborative and engaged interactions with the patients on the ward and we are fortunate to have a rich Multi-Disciplinary Team of Nurses, Doctors, OTs, Inpatient Social Worker, Peer Support Workers, Carer’s Liaison, Activity Co-Ordinator, Admin, Students, Psychology and Physical Health Leads.

In joining the Juniper Ward team you can expect ongoing support from a dedicated supervisor who will provide clinical support and facilitate your ongoing development and a wider commitment to ensuring that you can be the best Nurse Team Leader possible. There is opportunity to further your training and take a lead role in areas of interest to you among many other benefits. We will provide access to training relevant to your role as a Nurse Team Leader and an opportunity to develop beyond this with access to the Southern Health Academy of Clinical Excellence, which can provide funding for external training and higher education as well as career coaching and mentorship, with protected time available to you to work on this.

We know how important a work life balance is and we are open to flexible working. There is an expectation to work unsocial hours and to meet the needs of the ward, but we welcome applications for part time working and condensed hours.

Parklands Hospital is located in Basingstoke, close to rail and bus links with free parking on site. The unit is beautifully situated next to open countryside, and we benefit from an on-site nursery on the adjacent Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital site.

We can offer you:
  • £2500 Golden Hello or option for funded study
  • Relocation package of up to £8000
  • Generous leave and pension package
  • Relocation package
  • High quality training available
  • Flexible working welcomed
  • NHS Discount Card, with up to 10% discount from well-known retail brands
  • Free on-site parking
  • Excellent travel links
