An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent post in our team.
Oxfordshire Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Service is a community-based, forward thinking service. We are committed to delivering quality patient interventions to meet the needs of our service users. Our service works with women at pre-conception, during pregnancy & postnatally where mental health concerns have been identified. We are devoted to improving the outcomes for mothers, babies and families by providing assessment and treatment of the woman's needs. Our service provides perinatal care across the beautiful county of Oxfordshire. This role will cover mainly the North of the county, with the flexibility to work across Oxfordshire as needs arise.
The main office is based in Slade House, Headington but this is admin space only. Our service covers the whole of Oxfordshire and clinical work is completed in patients homes and/or at AMHT clinical base's. Therefore, access to transport for business use is essential for the role.
Perinatal mental health is currently high on the national agenda and our service is part of the Thames Valley Regional Perinatal Mental Health Network, contributing to regional development.
You will need to be able to work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, respecting the input of all the professions and professionals within this.
The successful candidate will need to:
- Have a positive attitude and passion for specialist perinatal mental health services.
- Have an understanding of perinatal mental health and its impact on service users.
- Be proactive, flexible and adaptable in order to meet the needs of our diverse service and the changing demands associated with community specialist perinatal mental health service.
- Be committed to delivering high quality care.
- Be familiar with current legislation, guidelines and processes that may affect the way in which mental health care is delivered.
- Be prepared and able to travel across Oxfordshire.
- Be able to use professional skills to support and motivate colleagues and service users.
If you are successfully recruited into this post you will have access to regular supervision, internal and external training opportunities.
There will be opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of training to professionals involved in the care of women during the perinatal period whilst being supported in your own development and training.
Excellent communication, organisational and liaison skills are essential to ensure that the links and relationships already developed by the team are maintained to deliver a high quality and responsive perinatal mental health service.
