An exciting opportunity has arisen to work at The Hatherton Centre, a Medium Secure Forensic Mental Health Unit based in Stafford. The service is part of the wider Forensic and Criminal Justice Service of Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. We provide inpatient mental health and learning disability services (medium and low secure), Forensic Intensive Recovery and Support Team, Liaison and Diversion Services, Integrated Offender Management Services, and Mental Health Treatment Requirement Services.

We are looking for a resilient, committed and enthusiastic individual who will support us in continuing to provide exemplary care to a complex and occasionally challenging group of individuals.

The Hatherton Centre is a 49 bedded facilities incorporating an intensive care unit, assessment unit, rehabilitation unit, longer term rehabilitation service, therapy areas, outdoor areas, well-equipped gym and sports hall.

Main duties of the job
  • To work independently and as part of a wider Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) of clinicians offering 24 hr mental health support as part of the MPFT services and wider Reach Out Provider Collaborative. The role will support the service to deliver a 7 days a week, 24 hours a day service for 365 days a year. The role includes working shifts in an in-patient medium secure forensic setting, although flexible working opportunities are available.
  • To act as a role model and to provide supervision to Nursing Associates and Health Care Support Workers to ensure high quality care is provided and maintained.
  • Work collaboratively with key partner organisations, service users, clinicians and other practitioners within the MDT.
  • To deliver a high quality and effective operational service to patients with complex needs, in accordance with the Trusts behaviours, principles and objectives.
