Community Mental Health Nurses (Band 6) – across Watford and Three Rivers

We have exciting opportunities for experienced nurses to join us in delivering high quality community mental health care within the South West of Hertfordshire. You’ll be joining a dynamic nursing workforce within a strong multi-disciplinary team, and a really supportive working environment.

You may be an experienced nurse seeking a change in direction in your career or be a Band 5 nurse with at least 12 months experience and wish to progress in your career.

We are seeking enthusiastic, compassionate nurses who hold a strong belief in recovery for people with severe and enduring mental health problems. Our Community Mental Health Nurses hold a caseload and undertake the role of care coordinator for those with varied complex mental health and social care needs. You will provide assessment and specific interventions to meet the needs of service users, their carers and families. It is expected that you will be a flexible practitioner who enjoys new challenges in meeting the developing needs of the service and our service users.

An excellent understanding of the issues people with mental health needs may experience is essential for this post as is a good understanding of Care Programme Approach, Care Management and Safeguarding. You will carry out interventions to a standard that ensures safe and effective care and complies with the NMC Code.

Our team is based in Watford and provides services to the localities of Watford and Three Rivers. Watford is a busy, thriving and diverse town and our work and the team reflects this. The area is well served with easy access to historic Hertfordshire and its all of the beautiful countryside as well as excellent transport links into London and beyond.

    We are currently offering successful candidates a generous and competitive recruitment and retention bonus of £6,000 ( pro rata) per annum (£1,500 paid on commencement, £1,500 paid in arrears after six months, and £3,000 paid in arrears at the end of 12 months, and £3,000 paid 6 monthly intervals thereafter. Terms and conditions apply. The bonus payment is kept under review.
