Consultant Psychiatrist Greenwich Primary Care Plus Team 10 Pas - 40 hours per week £84,559 - £114,003 per annum + £2,162 LW + 1% On-Call Availability Allowance

We are seeking to recruit a Consultant Psychiatrist for our Primary Care Plus Team at Market Street Health Centre. The post holder will work alongside another full time Consultant and a full time Specialty Doctor. The service is a locality based pathway of care which is the direct link between primary and secondary care services and focuses on tele-triage, providing direct advice and support to GPs and directing service users to the pathway that will specifically meet their needs

Main duties of the job

  • The services aim to be flexible, accessible and available outside of standard working hours. The Pathways of care aim to offer individuals choice and involvement regarding their treatment, actively encouraging their participation in the planning and implementation of care.
  • The Trust provides services to a richly diverse population; the locality teams will work with service users and carers in their community to ensure that the care and support provided is sensitive and appropriate to their needs.
  • A personalised care plan will be devised in consultation with the Service User and their carer/family where appropriate.
  • The post holder will be responsible for the care and treatment of patients who are on CPA and within the team. This will involve attending multi-disciplinary team meetings to discuss referrals to the team. The post holder will be expected to attend zoning meetings thrice a week to prioritise contacts with patients.
  • The post holder will in addition be expected to chair CPA meetings, offer crisis appointments to patients who are in the red zone and offer home visits and telephone advice to general practitioners and other professional who may be involved with the care of service users on the caseload.
  • The post holder will have formal outpatient clinics each week, patients who attend these will be referred via other services within the Trust. On average in the Medical Clinics there are 4-6 patients and in the Assessment Clinics there are 2 patients in each clinic.

  • The post holder will in addition be expected to chair CPA meetings, offer crisis appointments to patients who are in the red zone and offer home visits and telephone advice to general practitioners and other professional who may be involved with the care of service users on the caseload.
  • The post holder will have formal outpatient clinics each week, patients who attend these will be referred via other services within the Trust. On average in the Medical Clinics there are 4-6 patients and in the Assessment Clinics there are 2 patients in each clinic.
  • There is protected time for administrative work, as well as protected time to deal with mental health act related work including attending tribunals for patients on community treatment orders.
  • The post holder will have supervision duties for the Specialty Doctor working within the team.
  • Regular training and supervision of staff is essential to maintain safe and effective clinical practice within the locality team.
