Southampton CAMHS have an exciting opportunity opening for a Registered Mental Health Nurse working within their Eating Disorders pathway. You will be part of a wider multi-disciplinary team delivering high quality interventions to children, young people and their families presenting with a range of mental health difficulties with dedicated time for working in our Eating Disorder service.

A few words from a member of the team -
‘I absolutely love coming to work to see how I can best help the children and young people in my care and have worked for the last 22 years in the same CAMHs team, I still have the same strong drive to be the very best I can be, and I hope that I can still be in the team in another 10 years...!’

The successful applicant will be working alongside the lead Consultant Psychiatrist, nurses, therapists, and support worker to deliver bespoke care packages according to need. This will include a combination of clinic work and home visiting as well and building strong relationships with local tier 4 providers to ensure consistency of care for those young people requiring periods of hospital admission.

You will work alongside young people and their families to deliver outstanding care and helping to promote independence and dignity and positively enhancing the lives of individuals in our care. You will be expected to help practically, supervising mealtimes in a variety of environments, liaising with schools/ colleges and families, offering psychoeducation around food, eating disorders and managing emotions.

The CAMHS team is a strong and supportive team and has excellent structures to offer regular supervision. This is a great opportunity to join our team in Solent NHS Trust Children & Families Service line to support in the delivery of high-quality children’s mental health services.
