The Mental Health division of Nottinghamshire Healthcare Foundation Trust comprises of three directorates; Adult Mental Health, Mental Health Services for Older People and Specialist Services. Main duties of the job

Adult Mental Health (AMH) provide a number of services which range from inpatient and community services for those aged 18-65 with a range of significant mental health issues across Nottinghamshire. We aim to provide the best quality care and treatment for patients who are experiencing significant mental illness by having a collaborative approach and recovery focus. As well as having patients and carers at the centre of what we provide, AMH truly value and support the staff at all levels who are key to the smooth running of all functions within the Directorate. We are extremely passionate about our performance as a team and achieving high standards of care.

AMH prides itself on a strong culture of multi-disciplinary team working, including mental health nurses, nurse associates, peersupport workers, OT's, dieticians, psychiatrists, matrons, healthcare assistants, psychologists, psychotherapists, social workers, administrative staff, managers, and early career apprentices

(Worksop, Mansfield and Highbury Vale, Bulwell)
Salary: Band 5 £25,655 - £31,534 per annum (pro-rata if part time)
Plus enhancements for unsocial hours working (nights, weekends, Bank Holidays)

We want to hear from motivated qualified Registered Mental Health nurses, or those who hold a Diploma in Mental Health Nursing, and currently registered with the NMC, who are seeking to work in challenging but rewarding adult mental health in-patient environments. Our client group are those aged between 18 and 65 years of age who have a range of mental health presentations.

Working as part of a dynamic team, key components of the job are assessment, care, treatment and evaluation using a recovery approach working in collaboration with patients, their families, colleagues and other agencies

Essential requirements:

• Understand current mental health Legislation
• Understand Clinical Risk Assessment
• Ability to function within a team.
• Good oral and written communication
• Ability to develop professional working relationships with a challenging patient group.
• An understanding of the importance of working closely with services users and their family/friends/carers
• Evidence of good skills in assessment intervention and evaluation of patients nursing care
• Evidence of ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
• Evidence an understanding of recovery and the role of this within an acute healthcare setting
• Able to work flexible hours on a 24 hour rota including weekends and bank holidays.

The role will include access to supervision, development opportunities, enhancement for any unsocial hours of working and a comprehensive preceptorship package for those who are newly qualified in nursing, offering support and guidance throughout the beginning of your career and beyond.

We offer a Golden Hello payment of £2,740 to new starters to the Trust.
