Band 6 Occupational Therapist

2 x WTE

Part Time flexible working will be considered to meet service needs

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit 2 x WTE enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Occupational Therapists who are registered with the Health Care Professions Council to join our Occupational Therapy Team. The posts are to cover Community Occupational Therapy Services in Stoke on Trent and the Staffordshire Moorlands

The post holders will be required to independently manage their own busy case load whilst also supporting wider service development. As a Band 6 OT you will be expected to have supervisory responsibilities for staff within the team, a willingness to support with student education, undertake clinical triage and take on additional team responsibilities.

You will be required to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, show initiative and team spirit as well as be committed to providing evidence based patient care. The post holders will be flexible and able to work in a variety of locations as required. An understanding of assessment and rehabilitation is essential as is a willingness to share your experiences and knowledge with others in the service and external partners. Our Occupational Therapy Team consists of highly experienced Assistants and Technicians and you will be expected to delegate follow up work as appropriate to your colleagues. Post graduate experience of working with adults where their primary need is relating to a physical health condition is essential together with sound clinical knowledge of how an individual’s mental health can impact on functioning. Support networks with other Band 6 team members are encouraged and regular supervision will be provided by Band 7 clinical colleagues.

The post holder should have a clean driving licence and access to a car for work purposes.
