An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Thanet liaison psychiatry team. We are looking for applications from highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced mental health professionals who are committed in promoting patient focused care and treatment.

Thanet liaison currently have two Band 6 vacanciesMental Health Nurses, Occupational Therapists also encouraged to apply.We are looking for a confident and experienced mental health clinician, who will work across the acute general hospital to provide mental health assessments, care, advice and training to both the Emergency Departments and in-patient wards.

This role will be based at both William Harvey Hospital & QEQM Hospital so you will need to be able to travel between sites in a timely manner.

Main duties of the job

As a member of the team you will be expected to conduct risk assessments also provide comprehensive Psycho-social assessments and offer guidance, signposting to patients referred from the general wards, Meddoc and Accident and emergency department. Patients seen may present with self harm, psychiatric crisis, emotional distress, psychosomatic disorders. You will be required to make clear autonomous decisions based on an analysis of complex presented problems and judgement about available options. Candidates are expected to have excellent interpersonal skills that you will use to facilitate high quality mental health assessments, and to build good working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.Candidates are invited to apply who are committed to ensure parity of esteem, and work closely with both physical and mental health clinicians to ensure a seamless delivery of care.
