Clinical/Counselling Psychologist and Professional Lead –Devon Memory Service

We are looking for a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist (Professional Lead) to join the Devon Memory Service team based at one of our bases across Devon (candidate can choose). This role is key to ensuring that the memory clinics across the county have a high quality psychology and neuropsychology services. The Early Assessment Clinics operate from three centres based at:
  • Health and well-being Clinic, Wonford House Hospital
  • Northern Devon District Hospital
  • Torbay Hospital

The services provide the people of Devon with an opportunity to receive an early diagnosis of Dementia and access to follow up support to ensure people can make informed decisions about their future care and maximise their quality of life.

The role will include oversight and coordination of input into these clinics by Assistant Psychologists as well as coordinating neuropsychological assessments required by qualified psychologists. In addition, contributing to developments of how to improve the service offer along the Dementia Pathway will be key.

Psychology is strongly valued in the service and having a collaborative style & enjoying being part of a team, will be critical attributes for the success of this role. There will be a lots of opportunity to shape this post and would suit someone with an interest in service development.

The Psychology & Psychological Therapy (PPT) service is home to both qualified and non-qualified psychologists and psychological therapists from a range of theoretical backgrounds and interests. We have a number of forums for connecting and gaining CPD. An interest in Quality Improvement & research would be welcomed. We have links with universities for clinical psychology trainees.
