We are a compassionate and committed team in the Neurodevelopmental Pathway in Buckinghamshire CAMHS and we are looking for an enthusiastic and resourceful Psychologist to join us. Our team is built on the desire to improve the quality of life for the families, carers, young people and their supporters. We are passionate about creating personalised care and persevering to find a solution when the rest of the system is stuck. We seek to enable families and supporters to overcome behaviours that challenge and advocate for the young people with a desire to see them find a place of belonging in their world.

We are a supportive and fun team with plenty of opportunity for personal growth and learning. If you are looking for a role where you can make a difference, the opportunity to think creatively in a highly adapted way, and work in an environment where you are constantly learning from your colleagues, experiences, and the young people we work with then this is the role for you.

Previous experience of working with this group of young people would be ideal however if you share our common values we can support you to learn everything you need to know to work with our team. We are able to offer preceptorship opportunities and we welcome applications from final year students

We would welcome anyone who is interested to come and meet us and see what we do.

“As an 8a Psychologist within the Bucks CAMHS Neurodevelopmental team, I particularly enjoy the opportunities to develop other clinicians within my role, including assistant and trainee psychologists. The expertise of the psychologists in the team are valued and respected, providing an integral part of assessment, formulation, diagnosis and treatment of the young people. The team offer a safe and reflective space, conducive to further learning in this specialised area. The clinical work feels varied, particularly with complex cases, allowing me to continue to think in a flexible and creative way about young people, their neurodevelopmental conditions and their mental health. The psychologist role in this team has supported me to continue developing my professional identity in becoming an autonomous practitioner, whilst remaining passionate and grounded in the clinical work which initially drew me to train as a psychologist.”
