We have an incredibly exciting opportunity for a full time 10 PA Specialty Doctor at our well-established Home Treatment Team.
This appointment is for a full time Speciality doctor who will be working under supervision of consultant psychiatrist HTT (Home Treatment Team). The post holder will be a link between in-patient and Community Mental Health Recovery Services within the locality service area.
The Home Treatment Team aims to provide intensive community care underpinned by the principles of acute and dynamic, clinically focused risk management. The goal is one of therapeutic containment and clinical progression within a recovery framework. The Home Treatment Team multidisciplinary team develop individual care plans for each patient to work towards step down to less intensive clinical support. In addition to providing excellent psychiatric crisis care, the Home Treatment Team strives to ensure patients' physical health and well-being is actively managed.
The Home Treatment Team interfaces with Inpatient Acute Services, Triage Services, the Section 136 Places of Safety, Community Services, Liaison Services and Criminal Justice System. The majority of patients are referred from Community Mental Health Recovery Services and Liaison Services.
Main duties of the job
The successful post-holder will be work closely with HTT team to provide senior medical input to patients referred to and admitted under care of HTT in line with the agreed service Operational Policy. This includes:
To provide senior medical input to HTT ensuring safe and timely service provision for service users, which may include assessments, advice and support, liaison, mental health act assessments for patients under HTT.
To consider all safe community treatment options with the multi- disciplinary team for treatment prior to referring patients for in-patient admission.
To provide intensive medical input and reviews of patients with acute, chronic and severe mental illness when in crisis in line with HTT care pathway.
To liaise with both internal and external interfaces concerning admissions and transfers/discharges.

Qualifications
Essential
- MB BS or equivalent recognised medical qualification.
- Full medical registration with a license to practice.
- Approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act (or within 6 to 12 months of the time of interview/assessment) or equivalent
Desirable
- Relevant higher degree, e.g. MD, PhD, MSc or other additional clinical qualifications
- MRCPsych or equivalent
- Management qualification or evidence of an interest in developing leadership skills
Eligibility
Essential
- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
- Included on the GMC Specialist Register OR within six months.
