We have designed a rotational programme to enable band 5’s to work in each inpatient setting for a period of 6 months, and our Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit for 3 months each. This will provide you with a programme of specially designed training, support and development to increase your clinical skills, and provide you with the practical skills and experience to function at a band 6 level. After successfully completing your rotation, you will be offered a substantive band 6 post in one of the areas you have worked in (where possible). During this time as with our traditional preceptorship programme successful candidates will have the opportunity to work with the Acute Mental Health team, Patient Flow team and within the Place of Safety Suite.
Our inpatient services operate 24/7 and as such it is expected the successful candidate will be flexible with their working hours. You will also be expected to be able to attend additional training throughout the rotation including mandatory training and local bespoke training.
In addition we will be supporting you to gain a 30 credit module in either leadership or CBT; more information regarding this will be discussed with you at interview.
