Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust have been successful in gaining funding to deliver Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) into schools and colleges in both Bath and North East Somerset and Wiltshire.

As part of the Community Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, these teams will develop new models of early intervention supporting children and young people with mild to moderate mental health and wellbeing needs such as anxiety, behavioural difficulties or friendship issues, as well as providing consultation and training to staff working within education settings. Key interventions will include:
  • Individual face to face work, e.g. anxiety, low mood, friendship and behavioural difficulties
  • Group work, e.g. self harm and anxiety
  • Group parenting classes, e.g. conduct disorder, communication difficulties
  • Supporting the Senior MH Lead in the school or college to develop a whole-school approach and mentally healthy school
  • Give timely advice to help CYP get right help and stay in school – integrated referral system

We are looking to recruit a dynamic and forward-thinking Clinical Team Manager covering one MHST in Wiltshire, based in Melksham, who will be responsible for and lead the day to day management and line management of the MHSTs. This will include responsibility for a Clinical Supervisor, Education Mental Health Practitioners and Foundation Workers.

Key elements of the role are to:
  • Be responsible and lead the day to day management and line management to practitioners within MHST’s
  • Be responsible and ensure the effective co-ordination of a range of operational processes within the team such as referral and case allocation, caseload management, regular review and proactive monitoring of intervention within the MHST’s including consideration to safeguarding and clinical risk issues where indicated
  • Demonstrate commitment to ensuring routine outcome monitoring is embedded within the development of the MHST’s in order to demonstrate improvements in outcomes for children, young people and parents/carers.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the on call rota which is approximately 7 days every 12 weeks (this could be subject to change).
