The post holder will act as a Key Worker under the supervision of the Nurse Team Leader and manage a caseload of patients with drug and alcohol problems.
They will demonstrate clinical knowledge and skills and facilitate the implementation and evaluation of nursing care to ensure that the highest standard of nursing care is achieved. They will also work as part of a multi-professional team and ensure that patient care is patient centred and evidenced based.
To be responsible and accountable for providing a high standard of nursing care within a multiagency and working in partnership with other service providers.
Work autonomously using specialist knowledge and experience when assessing and making clinical decisions and will be guided by broad occupational policies.

Person Specification Education/Qualifications Essential
- Registered Mental Health Nurse
- Evidence of post- registration continuing professional development activity
- Possess clinical experience and specialist knowledge within the field of substance misuse and mental health
- Relevant degree level qualification
- Qualification in Substance Misuse or therapies applicable to substance misuse
- Evidence of Multi Disciplinary working particularly with children's services
- Evidence of clinical experience within the field of Substance Misuse
- Experience in a range of clinical settings e.g. adult mental health, community mental health
- Organisational ability and time management skills
- Ability to work unsupervised and also as a member of a Team
- Clinical assessment and formulation skills
- I.T. skills
- Presentation skills
- Ability to demonstrate sound clinical knowledge and awareness of current evidence base relevant to the area of practice
- Sound working knowledge of the legal and policy framework underpinning substance misuse service provision e.g. Substance Misuse Strategy, Substance misuse Frameworks, NICE Guidelines
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures for children and adults
- Knowledge of physical illnesses specifically relating to substance misuse
- Computer Software and Applications
