Senior Clinician RMN B6 Based in Lincoln and Grantham
Full time ( 37.5 hours/shift work)
Are you an ambitious and flexible RMN? Would you like to join our exciting service assessing and supporting vulnerable adults and children coming into contact with the criminal justice system?
The Lincolnshire Criminal Justice Liaison and Diversion (CJL&D) service launched on 1 April 2020. Commissioned by NHS England, and in partnership with the charity Lincolnshire Action Trust (LAT), it provides mental health professional cover for four custody suites and two magistrates courts across Lincolnshire. Your role will involve:
- Assessing and referring on people of all ages and all vulnerabilities, and contributing to diverting them from the criminal justice system where appropriate.
- Working closely with the police, courts and wider CJL&D team (including LAT practitioner staff) and writing structured reports for use in the magistrates court

This post will be suitable for a RMN with SIGNIFICANT experience of working in mental health with vulnerable adults or children. The post involves assessing people in both the custody suites and the courts , so experience working with people coming into contact with the CJS is desirable. Willingness to work closely with partner agencies in a collaborative way is essential, and the post will include advising and supporting LAT staff. This post involves high levels of autonomous clinical practice around risk assessment and defensible decision making.
You need to be willing to work flexibly a seven day a week 9am - 9pm shift system, for which unsocial hours enhancements will be paid as appropriate. Job share will be considered. Travel across Lincolnshire will be necessary, for which mileage will be paid. Police (Level 2) vetting will be necessary for these posts.
If you require further information about the posts or vetting processes, please contact Sarah Spicer on 07920 230 363.
Job description and specification are appended. In the application please describe how you meet the essential and desirable role competencies in the person specification.
