Hazel Ward PICU is a dedicated Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit consisting of 10 intensive care beds for male service users of working age across the Hampshire area. We are a multi award-winning team dedicated to caring for service users in the least restrictive way possible. We are proud winners of the Reducing Restrictive Practice, Quality Improvement Star Award in 2020 & the ‘Peoples choice’ award for Patient Safety in 2021. We aim to provide forward thinking services to people with a wide range of mental health needs, all of whom are detained under the Mental Health Act. Our emphasis is on providing the service user with safe, person-centred care and treatment to manage their complex and longer-term needs within a safe and secure environment.

This is an opportunity to be part of a supportive and friendly team to make a difference in the lives of others. As a Nurse Team Leader you will use your skills to work directly with service users by creating collaborative care plans and delivering these, contribute to Quality Improvement and service development, advocating for service users, engaging with their carers, and be an influential member of the ward team dedicated to multidisciplinary team working. This role is dynamic, challenging and fun.

In joining the Hazel Ward PICU Team you can expect ongoing support from a dedicated supervisor who will provide clinical support and facilitate your ongoing development and a wider commitment to ensuring that you can be the best Nurse Team Leader possible. There is opportunity to further your training and take a lead role in areas of interest to you among many other benefits. We will provide access to training relevant to your role as a Nurse Team Leader and an opportunity to develop beyond this with access to the Southern Health Academy of Clinical Excellence, which can provide funding for external training and higher education as well as career coaching and mentorship, with protected time available to you to work on this.

For further information regarding this position, please contact Charlotte Dodd – Ward Manager on 01256 376540.

We are happy to discuss flexible working - all requests for flexible and part time working will be considered.
