As well as the day to day leadership of the team, you will also be responsible for supporting clinical staff to take complex decisions regarding the planning and development of programmes of care.
Your role will be to ensure the service provided by the team is well organised, evidence based, recovery focused, socially inclusive and person centred, with clear clinical outcomes.
Main duties of the job
You will be joining our teams of nurses and allied health professionals to work in partnership with our patients, their families and carers to deliver excellent care, at all parts of their lives.
The Post holder should have the ability to lead, create, be innovative, motivated and a team player, acting up in the absence of the Operational Team Manager.
As the Deputy Manager for the team you will be responsible for the day to day management and leadership of the team, working with the Team Manager to ensure safe and effective implementation of service developments relevant to the team. You will be responsible for ensuring safe and effective management of all operations in the team, managing the core team responsibilities and trouble-shooting operational problems.
You will be required to work closely with the Service Manager and Team Manager to develop the team in line with commissioner requirements and Trust objectives, consulting all key stakeholders, and positively reinforcing the expectations of the organisation through collaborative and dynamic management and leadership that is both supportive and encouraging in nature to enable the team to adapt to key changes smoothly. You will have a lead role in the development of core team policies and local operating procedures.

- To manage the effective delivery of all functions of the team, including the Primary Care Mental Health function aligned with the team, ensuring that robust arrangements are in place to support service users, carers and partner organisations, and that the effective management of human, financial and estate resources is in place to achieve Trust objectives.
- To support the continued efficient and effective management of the team, providing leadership and supervision to a multi-disciplinary staff group. The post holder will be responsible for the management of the team caseload, overseeing referrals and the allocation of service users to care coordinators / clinical staff ensuing that care packages are maintained under the auspices of CPA.
- With authorized signatory and budgetary responsibility you will need to achieve financial balance in the team, making the best use of your financial resources to achieve positive clinical outcomes for service users and carers.
- Part of your budgetary responsibility will be to work with the Operational Manager, Service Manager and Assistant Director to meet Directorate led annual CRES requirements.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential
- oRegistered Professional in either Nursing, Social Work, with current registration with NMC or HCPC.
- oEvidence of post registration continue professional development, qualifications or equivalent experience
- oEducated to degree level or equivalent experience
- oPractice Educator or mentor
- oPrevious experience of working within the community setting and of the care coordinator role and case load management
- oPrevious experience of managing others and functioning as a team member
- oPrevious experience of Management and Clinical Supervision of others, including annual appraisal
- oPrevious experience of organisational change
- oPrevious experience of service development, quality improvement and of bringing innovation and new ideas to practice
- oPrevious experience of working within the NHS and with senior allied professionals, internal and external stake holders
- oExcellent organisational skills - able to prioritise own work and manage own time.
- oExcellent oral and written communication and presentation skills and the ability to meet tight timelines
- oExcellent skills of conflict resolution, negotiation and facilitation
