We are excited to offer this opportunity to be part of our friendly and supportive team at the Margaret Laurie House as a Clinical Team Lead. The Margaret Laurie House is an Inpatient service, supporting the needs of working age adults.

The unit is mixed gender and holds 12 beds, set in a lovely period property with beautiful grounds.

As a Clinical Team Lead you will provide robust clinical leadership and management to the staff team. You will be a source of mental health knowledge and expertise, have vision and resilience to support the unit and your colleagues in keeping the ward environment safe and productive.

The role involves working with patients’ chronic mental health challenges, delivering comprehensive psychiatric assessment including risk assessment and risk management plans. There is a great emphasis on physical health care on the unit and staff receive regular training to ensure they are offering up to date interventions and feel confident to carry out care with the patients.

Good communication skills are essential to deliver effective, high quality healthcare while managing operational aspects and ensuring the unit runs effectively. This will include all aspects of people management: safer staffing, clinical supervision, clinical effectiveness underpinned by evidence-based care and key performance indicators and CQC standards. The applicant must be compassionate towards both patients and staff and have an open and honest presence.

We are committed to continuous learning to improve patient care and can offer a range of learning opportunities to support the development of patient experience and your own knowledge. We are keen to acknowledge staff interests and have great educational links to the local universities. We activity encourage staff to pursue ongoing education and bring new skills to the unit.

There is an opportunity to undertake psychological intervention training in DBT skills, trauma informed interventions and CBT skills, physical health training adding a range of procedures to your tool kit.

As a Clinical Team Lead you will be supported by a full MDT team, unit ward manager, advanced clinical practitioner and senior matron.

We have a great team at Margaret Laurie House and would welcome applicants from those of you who think you can meet this challenge.

This is a fixed-term opportunity until February 2023.

If you would like to discuss this position further and would like to have an informal visit, please contact Kylie Witkowski, the Senior Matron.
