Hastings CAMHS are seeking to recruit dynamic and innovative mental health nurses to join our experienced and motivated team to work with children, young people and their families presenting with significant mental health disorders. If you enjoy being a part of a team, are creative and want to make a positive difference to the lives of children and young people then we would be delighted to hear from you.

The ideal candidates will be mental health nurses who have had either community care coordinator roles within mental health teams and/or experience of working with children and young people.

To protect the health and safety of our staff/workers, patients, and those attending our sites, we encourage our workforce to get fully vaccinated against COVID.

Main duties of the job

You will use your knowledge, experience and skills to join the multidisciplinary team to undertake high quality mental health and clinical risk assessments, and deliver therapeutic evidenced based interventions both individually and as a group facilitator.

You will Care Coordinate a caseload, to offer therapeutic engagement to stabilise and reduce risk in acute presentations, and liaise with professional networks to improve outcomes and access to support outside of CAMHS.

You will confident to manage clinical calls into service, and you will be competent to complete prioritised reviews and liaise with clinicians from other teams within East Sussex CAMHS, as well as partner agencies, including children services and schools to encourage collaborative working to provide support around a child or young person.

This role also holds the expectation to clinically supervise junior staff and act as a practice supervisor or assessor to nursing students on placement with us.

About us

You will be supported by a passionate and experienced leadership team, with clear and robust structures of supervision and governance which offer assurance for safe and effective practice.

You will be supported to undertake training to support your revalidation and continued professional development needs, and will engage in regular line management and clinical supervision separately.

We encourage flexible working. We know that a positive work/ life balance brings about huge health-related benefits, which has a positive impact on the care we provide. Please speak to us about flexible working, for example, home-working, part time hours, flexible start/ finish times or anything else. If it works for you and works for the role, we'll do our best to make it happen.
