At Dorset Healthcare our aim is to be an innovative and responsive provider, delivering high quality integrated care to make a positive difference to the health, well-being and independence of the people that we support in Purbeck.

Do you want to be part of a forward thinking, dynamic, friendly innovative team? If the answer is yes, we have the job for you.

Within Purbeck Community Mental Health Team, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner working three days per week. The post holder will work as part of an integrated multi-disciplinary team. The team is made up of Psychiatrists, Nurses, Psychologists, Employment Specialists, Physical Health Worker, Social Workers, Admin and Support Time Recovery Worker. The role will involve care-coordination, duty work and it is desirable (but not essential) if you have an interest in group work in relation to the Trust’s RELAY (Regulating Emotion and Looking after Yourself) group.

You will be a committed, dynamic, motivated professional with excellent communication, organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your work. You should have recent experience of working in a mental health environment and be able to apply the philosophies of engagement and recovery in your work with service users.

As a key member of the team, you will find the experience challenging, rewarding and varied within the well-established and supportive team at Purbeck.

The team is based within the East Dorset Locality; the post holder will need to have the ability to travel by car as they will be required to assess and monitor patients in their own homes and within other community settings.

We encourage you to contact us to arrange an informal visit, come and meet the team and ask us any questions about the role.
