Are you passionate about Occupational Therapy and progressing people to their maximum potential in their own homes? Do you have the commitment and desire to make a difference to people’s lives? If so, a post in the Mid Hampshire IIC Therapy Team may be for you!

Our Community therapists work in patients’ homes, linking closely with the GP practices in the Winchester Area, covering week days only at present. Our community teams are based in Winchester City, Colden Common and Andover. This post will cover Andover and the surrounding rural areas, providing rehabilitation to prevent unnecessary admissions to hospital and supporting people to manage their conditions in their own homes.

We are a busy, friendly, cohesive team, who are looking for a band 5 occupational therapist and would consider newly-qualified therapists or a band 5 to band 6 role emerging post. You will receive good support and professional development from your colleagues and preceptorship from Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust. You will be responsible for managing your own caseload whilst working effectively within the multidisciplinary team to ensure an integrated approach to patient care. We work to prevent unnecessary admission to hospital or long term care, to promote functional independence and to facilitate timely discharge from hospital. The team consists of physiotherapists, occupational therapists and rehab assistants, with the wider team consisting of nurses, rehabilitation and health care support workers, using an inter-professional model of working. Our teams work closely with colleagues in Hampshire County Council and Hampshire Hospitals Foundation Trust to provide the best care and outcomes for our patients.

Experience in front line NHS community patient care is desirable as is evidence of up to date clinical professional development. Applicants need to be keen to develop and apply their clinical skills, have well developed communication, organisational and prioritisation skills and be able to work under pressure. The role is demanding but rewarding, and we are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and hardworking individual who can work flexibly and efficiently. It is essential you have access to a car for work purposes and hold a current driver’s license.

If you are excited at the prospect of working in this challenging yet highly rewarding area of healthcare then we look forward to hearing from you. There may be the opportunity to develop this position in a rotation with the Urgent Community Response team if this is something that interests you.
