South Birmingham Assertive Outreach have a vacancy for an experienced and enthusiastic band 6 OT to join our multidisciplinary team, providing intensive recovery directed support to service users who present with complex, severe and enduring mental health needs. The successful candidate will have a special interest in risk assessment and management and enjoy working in a small cohesive team.

OT's working in AOT meet together for support and development, there is wider contact with the Integrated care OT community and opportunities for internal and external training in the Trust.

Main duties of the job

Successful applicants will hold an OT caseload, carry a care coordinator caseload and will also offer specific Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to individuals. Applicants should have significant experience of working post qualification in mental health services

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to work collaboratively with individuals, adopting a creative and problem solving approach to working practice. You will need to be flexible, energetic, have a positive attitude and demonstrate an ability to work autonomously.

• Substantive Experience of working in community with experience of carrying a caseload

• Experience of forensic, PICU or challenging behaviours prior to community
