Are you looking for a job that offers a high degree of autonomy in a service that is committed to developing evidence based approaches for Older People with Mental Health Needs? Staff in the team enjoy a mix of working from home and office base and we have a culture of supporting flexible working.

This is an opportunity to join a pathway dedicated to providing assessment and treatment of older people with complex mental health needs who require secondary mental health services due to complex issues in the context of physical frailty or a significant mental health or psychological issue related to aging.

The service accepts referrals for individuals over 65 and is a countywide service. The post holder works as part of a multidisciplinary team, carrying out assessment and interventions with a special interest in needs of people with Mental Health Needs.

The team is committed to providing evidence based interventions including family work and solution focused approaches. Training and supervision is provided to develop in these areas.

Worcestershire is a diverse county, boasting great transport networks to Birmingham and the rest of the UK, picturesque countryside and a rich history. Worcester city is voted the happiest city to live in and ranks in the top 3 for safety and friendliness. The Worcester Southern Relief road is due for completion later this year, which will greatly improve the accessibility of the Malvern area.

Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care Trust is an innovative and creative place to work. Care and support of patients, their families and staff are at the heart of the organisation’s values.

Following investment, the Older Adult Mental Health Service has expanded and continues to develop it’s teams. The service has low attrition rates and aims to work together with patients, their families, colleagues and the wider community for outstanding care, enabling older people to live well and thrive.

You will need to have a flexible attitude, have good time management and organisational skills and be able to work in a very busy and developing service. The team base is in Malvern but you will also need to travel to other trust sites as part of the role, across the county.

Please contact me for an informal discussion about the role. Anna Lomax, Team Manager, 01386 502405 or 01684 612763
