Job Details

There is an opportunity for a newly qualified Mental Health Band 5 Nurse to join our youth team in Newmarket. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual who would like to work with young people age 16-25, acting as Lead Clinician and delivering therapeutic input, through good assessment, formulation and treatment. Our experienced team will help and support you develop all the skills you need as you hold a caseload and provide support to our senior clinicians, completing 117 reviews, supporting patients on depots and creating care plans as needed. We are a well connected and thoughtful MDT, that takes time to think about staff needs as well as those of patients and families. This post will support you to further develop your community skills as a Nurse or social worker.

Main duties of the job

- Lead Clinician, holding a caseload, assessment and formulation and treatment.

- Observation and information gathering about the service user.

- Working as part of a close knit MDT, assessing and managing risk.

- Building rapports and positive working relationships patients and carers

- Attending team meetings and participating in reflective discussions.

- Undertaking 117 reviews / depot administration to community patients.

We aim to promote the development of our staff, we have recently supported staff in getting funding for and completing training is the Family Therapy Foundation course.

We pride ourselves on the delivery of meaningful supervision, management and clinical and use of the appraisal system, to look at goal setting with staff regarding their career development.

Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is the main provider of specialist mental health services for the counties of Norfolk and Suffolk, serving a population of 1.6 million people. We are a large organisation covering a wide geographical area divided into ‘Care Groups'. There are also Care Groups supporting children, family and young people’s services, and specialist services, including Forensic mental health services.
