We are looking for an enthusiastic social worker to work in our purpose built units. The post holder will work 2.5 days in each of the units ensuring continuity of care and supporting transitions between levels of care.
The Highfield GAU is a purpose built 18 bedded acute unit and the Highfield Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is a 8 bedded unit which is currently in construction. Both units will be part of a system of mental health services for children and young people which comprises both community and inpatient provision. The units provide a range of specialist programmes to enable a more comprehensive inpatient care pathway where young people can be cared for as close to home as possible.
The post holder will have the opportunity to work initially within the existing Highfield GAU but will also have the exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of establishing, setting up the PICU unit including development of the clinical model.
Commitment to and participating in research will be an essential part of the role.
We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate a commitment to working with young people and their families, has initiative, and leadership skills whilst also able to work collaboratively and cohesively within the ward team and local authorities supporting transitions and identifying barriers to discharge. Candidates will also need to have the required knowledge and skills to ensure the delivery of high-quality care that is evidence based and person centered.
