A rewarding opportunity has arisen within the South Buckinghamshire Older Adult Community Mental Health Team (OACMHT) for a professional and dedicated Deputy Team Manager. The OACMHT is based in our newly refurbished Mental Health Hub based at Saffron House- High Wycombe. Our Older Adults Community Mental Health Team provides a range of services including a Memory Service, Care Co-ordination, Social Care Assessment, Mental Health Assessment, Enhanced Duty Response and Step up care.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced registered Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker who is interested in developing their skills in the management of people, and who wants to make a difference in the services that we provide.
We operate an innovative and integrated assessment for our patients with the aim of providing timely assessment and diagnosis following the first appointment, and care close to the persons home. We work closely with our partners in Buckinghamshire County council. We provide an assessment and treatment function and the staff in the team work on a Rota covering shifts from 09.00 to 20.00 (weekdays) and 09.00 to 17.00 (weekends).
You will be expected to deliver and maintain high quality and person-centred care for our patients. You will therefore need to be a highly skilled and motivated practitioner who has extensive experience of mental health services and can demonstrate the ability to teach and lead others. A caring and committed attitude with a strong understanding of the needs of older adults with dementia and a variety of mental health needs is essential. A good working knowledge of safeguarding and process to manage risk is required. The team is highly supportive and committed to delivering high quality patient care where the caseload can be demanding, diverse and frequently complex.
As Deputy Team Manager you will be a leader and provide Line management and supervision to several junior clinicians and be expected to support the Team Manager with Service development. You will also be expected to hold a small complex case load and take a lead role within the Care co-ordination service of the CMHT.
Regular supervision will be provided, and you will be encouraged to undertake any training relevant to your professional and personal development. There will be opportunities for you to gain management and leadership training. You will also work closely with our HR mentor and be supported closely by your colleagues, Team Manager and Head of Service.
