Full time, permanent role
We are recruiting a Band 6 Deputy Ward Manager to join an enthusiastic and motivated team on our Rainbow Unit which is a new low secure unit for autistic men. Our service is designed to motivate autistic adults, meet their individual needs, and assist them in responsible community participation while providing for security and public safety. We provide a safe and motivating environment that promotes the values of education, work, and recovery while encouraging the development of skills and abilities through an individualized treatment programme. Our facilities are state of the art with each patient having their own flatlet with lounge and kitchen. The unit has strong ties with the University of Warwick and clinical research.

Main duties of the job

To provide comprehensive treatment packages from admission through to discharge for identified Service Users.
To assist in the management of the care team comprising of Qualified Nurses, Assistant Practitioners, Health Care Assistants and Support staff.
To deputise for the Unit Manager in all aspects of the job role during their absence.
To contribute to the provision of an on call / bleep holder rota for the Brooklands site.
Oversee the role of the named nurse to identified service users ensuring comprehensive person centred treatment packages are in place.
Ensure that dignity, choice, respect, independence and the rights of the people with learning disabilities and / or mental health difficulties are maintained at all times

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
- Registered Learning Disability or Mental Health Nurse, registered with the NMC
- A range of experience of working with people with learning disabilities and / or mental health difficulties
- Post registration experience working with people with Learning Disabilities and/or Mental ill Health.
- Post registration experience working with individuals with a forensic need.
- Knowledge of national drivers for people with ASD.
- Knowledge of Physical, Procedural and Relational Security
- Knowledge of positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
