We are seeking a Mental Health Practitioner (Qualified Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, or Social Worker) to join our integrated Health and Social Care Community Mental Health Team which covers the population of East Southampton. The successful applicant will provide recovery-focused interventions that support service users to gain the necessary skills and support to manage their mental health needs. Our service provides care and treatment to service users struggling with significant mental health problems that are complex and require high quality care to manage risks safely and promote independence.
The transformation agenda in Southampton is underway with the introduction of Solent MIND peer workers into our teams and closer working relationships with our primary care colleagues - just two examples of new ways of working to place the user of our services in control of their care and treatment.
East Southampton is a rewarding place to work. We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative person who is committed to maximising life opportunities for our service users and their families. The work is varied and challenging, and there is a strong team approach ensuring good support for the successful applicant through MDT working and supervision. You will need to have a flexible, multi-disciplinary approach, have a good understanding of risk assessment, crisis planning and the recovery model.
We are a friendly supportive team and can offer you flexible working and professional development opportunities to support you in your career progression and would welcome applicants to join our inclusive, creative and evolving service as we develop new ways to meet the mental health needs of service users living in the East of city who require an episode of specialist secondary care to recover.
If you would like to be part of our team and to make an impact in improving service users mental health within their home setting then this is the team for you. We would love to talk to you about the opportunities of working in the East Southampton CMHT.
Use of a car is an essential requirement of the post.
If you have any questions about the post or to make a general enquiry please contact Lindsay Andrewartha or Becky Welsh on 023 82 310982
