A number of full-time and part-time posts in the Older Peoples’ Psychology department have become available across both the rural and urban areas of Dorset due to service restructuring. These are band 8 permanent posts (band 7s will also be considered). We welcome applications from clinical and counselling psychologists.
As part of the Pan Dorset Older Peoples’ Psychology Service, you will work with other friendly, dedicated and forward-thinking psychologists to provide specialist psychological services for older people under the care of OPCMHTs in both West Dorset and East Dorset.
In addition to psychological assessment and therapy, the provision of consultation, staff training and supervision for multi-disciplinary colleagues are highly valued aspects of psychological input in older peoples’ services.
The Trust is committed to the development of its staff and provides training opportunities to further develop skills and to support research initiatives. You will receive regular clinical supervision from experienced colleagues in the Older Peoples’ Clinical Psychology Service.
Please see the attached Band 8a Job Description and Person Specification to see whether you meet the requirements for this role.
We would also welcome applications from candidates who meet the criteria for a Band 7 clinical/counselling psychologist or psychotherapist, as we are able to provide a comprehensive and supported Preceptorship Programme for this role. Following successful completion of training and after gaining experience in the role, the successful applicant would move up to the Band 8a position.
Please see the attached Band 7 Job Description and Person Specification to see whether you meet the requirements for this role.
