An excellent opportunity has arisen to recruit a Mental Health Nurse for the Adult Acute Wards here at the Bronte, Wythenshawe.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will assess and treat patients with mental health problems or whom have an organic illness. They will provide interventions that support recovery, wellbeing and social inclusion.

You will act as a Named Nurse to service users and you will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team.

The successful applicant will develop and negotiate care plans with service users, families/carers and other professionals, and ensure that quality and timely care is delivered at all times.

You will also undertake joint work with other members of the team and external agencies providing support to the needs of service users.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate both their clinical abilities and leadership qualities whilst promoting high quality services for older people. In turn, we can offer regular managerial, clinical and professional support and the opportunity to continue to develop your practice through a range of learning and development opportunities.

To provide and develop in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team and other relevant agencies a high quality service for patients and carers that takes into account individuals physical, psychological, spiritual and social needs.

To develop and support a culture which values people rights, enables them to make informed choices and recognises each individuals right to valued life-style, positive social experiences and use of valued resources.

To lead & contribute to the smooth running of the unit in a consistent way that reflects the philosophies of the unit, service & hospital.

Contribute to and ensure a therapeutic and safe environment is maintained whist on duty for patients, staff & visitors.
