Band 5 Occupational Therapist – full time

Community Team for people with Learning Disabilities- East Surrey.

Bases in Redhill and Epsom with some home working.

We are excited to offer this band 5 post out for recruitment.

If you are passionate about working with people with learning disabilities, then we would be keen to hear from you!

Due to promotion, an excellent opportunity has arisen to come and be part of our dynamic Occupational Therapy service. As a service we have developed innovative ways of delivering occupational therapy in the community teams for people with learning disabilities. This includes group and individual occupational therapy.

You will be working in an occupational therapy team alongside a band 7, band 6, and occupational therapy apprentice. We sit in a wider multi-professional team and work closely with our colleagues.

We use Model of Human Occupation to guide all our occupational therapy assessments and interventions. We are particularly focusing on embedding occupational science and neuroscience into our practice. Staff are valued for their expertise in occupationally focused interventions and specialist group therapy.

The occupational therapy leadership team is committed to an extensive, coordinated CPD programme including a robust supervision structure, care group meetings, trust wide and core competence training, and an annual conference.

We offer a structured and well supported Band 5 Occupational Therapy Development Programme. This innovative scheme offers a development pathway for new graduates and more experienced Band 5 Occupational Therapist to become skilled specialist clinicians with a good range of knowledge and understanding.

The Band 5 offer includes
  • Participation in preceptorship programme
  • Core skills training
  • Reflective Practice
  • Regular supervision
  • Attendance at the OT Forum (CPD event)

We cover all of East Surrey so access to a motor vehicle is essential.
