If you are an SB Health Board employee this post will only be offered on a secondment basis and you will need to have gained your line managers approval for the secondment prior to going to interview.
To lead and develop in the areas of Substance misuse monitoring, detoxification and drug recovery works. Provide substance misuse clinic for assessment, intervention and review. To assess and the individual needs of those within yours and other nurses care with specific regard to substance misuse care and treatment.
Carry out relevant care according to the individualised multi-disciplinary care plan and lead in clinical reviews and other meetings, reporting on the condition of patients to other professionals and supporting nurses in their interventions
To administer, monitor and supervise prescribed medication. Observe for and report, any possible adverse reactions. To ensure that correct procedures are carried out by other nurses in the administration, storage and ordering of drugs.
Main duties of the job
To formally support other staff in their development through identifying CPD requirements and via the SPDR process. Provide encouragement, teaching and coaching activities for other nursing staff
To provide day to day clinical leadership and standard setting, in conjunction with fellow Band 6 colleagues in the delivery of healthcare to the prisoner population using evidence based practice
To act as a responsible Charge Nurse for the development and delivery of primary health care input within the prison, in particular the daily clinics, in accordance with the wider NHS agenda
Be an effective senior member of the Healthcare Service
To have day to day shift management responsibilities when required
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
