Are you an existing Mental Health Practitioner looking for a new challenge? Or perhaps you are a newly qualified practitioner who is looking to complete your preceptorship in a fast pace, community setting?

We are looking for an enthusiastic, grounded, yet innovative, Mental Health Practitioner who is committed to the principles of recovery to become part of the Southampton CRHTT. Our team seeks to support individuals with acute mental health needs requiring intensive input to remain in the community in a recovery focussed, supportive manner. We also support individuals along their journey through the Acute Care Pathway from the hospital environment to home.

This exciting post allows for the successful applicant to develop experience in a community setting whilst also being a key part of the Acute Care Pathway, working in close liaison with the in-patient multi-disciplinary teams. There is also the opportunity to develop therapeutic skills working closely alongside our psychology team to delivering outcome focussed, time limited interventions. The Southampton Acute Mental Health Team is a forward thinking, service user focussed team which welcomes new ideas and seeks to deliver clinical excellence at all times. You will be offered a full induction; regular supervision and team based reflected practice.

As a practitioner in the team, you will be taking a role in the support and supervision of junior colleagues, as well as delivering high quality, evidence based interventions under the supervision of your senior colleagues. You will hold exemplary communication skills, enabling you to be a role model for others, as well as positively representing Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust. You will also be able to liaise effectively with other services, both internal and external to Southern Health Foundation NHS Trust, retaining service user focus at the heart of any clinical decision making to ensure the best outcome. The successful applicants will be expected to participate in a flexible, 24 hour, 7 days per week rota on a shift rotational basis.

Please note that this post is advertised for nurses, social workers and occupational therapists.

As a registered professional you will automatically become a member of our Academy of Clinical Excellence (ACE) which has a specific focus on the professional development and career progression of our nurses and Allied Health Professionals. As part of ACE’s commitment to you, our development pathway offer for band 5’s includes access to masters level academic study with our partner universities along with a bespoke leadership programme tailored to help you enhance your competence and confidence as a leader during your early career. If you are a newly qualified registrant we will provide you with a structured preceptorship programme to support you in making an effective transition from student to registered practitioner. ACE will support you to progress your journey with us and we offer all our registrants the opportunity to engage in ‘Career Navigation’ conversations which will help you explore your career aspirations and make decisions about your career trajectory.
