We would like to invite applications for an experienced and enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist to join our service in Dorset, including Bridport/Dorchester but also covering East Dorset. This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 8A (or 7 with preceptorship to 8A depending on experience) Clinical Psychologist to work in a well-established Clinical Psychology Team specialising in Adult Learning Disabilities.

This is for a part time role of 30hrs.

The post will be based in Bridport and Dorchester and also in the East Dorset area, with a skilled and dedicated pan-Dorset Clinical Psychology team based in Dorchester and in Bournemouth and Poole, with close working with Multi-disciplinary Community Learning Disability Teams.

You will be providing psychological assessment, formulation and treatment to adults with learning disabilities who have a range of psychological conditions. Our team of psychologists has a number of therapy specialties including EMDR, CAT, DBT, ACT, as well as CBT, and we are involved in a range of exciting initiatives including developing the dementia pathway, development of therapy packs, training to IAPT, capacity assessments, and much more.

This is an opportunity to develop skills within an enthusiastic and skilled team. Clinical Supervision will be provided by an experienced qualified clinical psychologist within the team.

Please see the attached Band 8A specific Job Description and Person Specification to ensure that you meet the requirements for this role.

We would also welcome applications from candidates who meet the criteria for a Band 7 Clinical Psychologist as we will be able to provide a comprehensive and supported Preceptorship Programme for this role. Following successful completion of training and after gaining experience in the role, the successful applicant would move up to the Band 8A position.

Please see the attached Band 7 specific Job Description and Person Specification to ensure that you meet the requirements for this role.

If you are interested in moving to Dorset there is also the possibility of a relocation package which can be discussed in interview. For further details on relocation expenses please email dhc.careers@nhs.net
