Do you have a real passion for education, and the social, emotional and the mental wellbeing needs of our young people?A whole new workforce has been developed in the East Riding and we are looking to recruit just the right 2 individual to be part of this dynamic forward-thinking innovative team.As part of the national rollout mental health support teams we are excited to be the local provider in partnership with schools, colleges, East Riding Council, NHS ERY CCG and University of Northumbria to implement and develop this fantastic innovative project in Hull.The Mental Health Support Teams integrate into our already well established offer.The teams work directly with children and young people between the ages of 5 to 18.The teams will support Education and the wider system with a particular focus on whole school approach, advice support guidance and consultation to improve life chances. The teams will also deliver targeted low intensity CBT informed interventions.We are looking to recruit the right 2 individual into the roles of Professional Team lead within the MHST . We are looking for two enthusiastic individuals who have extensive experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams and supporting CYP's and families to access the right support based on need.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will lead a dedicated team of Senior Practitioners and Education Mental Health Practitioners. The work involves a high level of professional autonomy .

The successful individual will support the service lead to develop a pioneering and innovative service supporting early interventions for mild to moderate mental health problems for children, young people aged 5 - 18 and their families within education and community settings.

The Successful individual will support the service lead and commissioners (Local Authority and NHS) in contributing to the roll out of Mental Health Support Teams within Hull in-line with national policy from DHSC, DfE and NHS England and Improvement.
  • They will embed their practice experience into a multi-disciplinary team, supporting team members with advice, guidance and complex case management that do not require specialist NHS Children and Young People Mental Health Services and can be managed within Early Intervention and Targeted support. And will have key responsibility as professional Team lead within the Mental Health Support Teams ensuring that a systemic approach is deployed within the teams both in terms of practitioners working together and throughout the whole system of children and young people health, care and education services in Hull and relationships with key partners.
  • The successful individual will provide professional/ clinical and management supervision supporting members of their teams.

Person Specification Knowledge Essential
  • Full understanding of relevant policy, legislation, drivers and their application to profession and service area e.g. Mental Capacity Act, Children and Families Act 2014, SEND Code of Practice etc
  • Evidence of developing/implementing project/service development and improvement that have impacted own service area and other services/agencies
  • Evidence of developing/implementing project/service development and improvement that have impacted own service area and other services/agencies
  • Experience of successful policy implementation and change
Desirable
  • Knowledge of schools, colleges, and the education system
  • Practice Educator Standards Certification
Experience Essential
  • Advanced/Expert understanding/application of relevant professional practice/standards/audit within service area

Qualifications Essential
  • Professional Qualification in Social Work, General Nursing, Mental Health Nursing LD Nursing or Occupational Therapy
  • Graduate Certificate/Foundation Level qualification in Systemic Practice/Family Therapy (or to complete within 36 months of successful appointment)
  • Registered with Social Work England, Health & Care Processionals Council or Nursing and Midwifery Council

  • Able to demonstrate effective communication skills at all levels i.e. strategically and locally
