About us
Candidates will be joining a CQC rated ‘Good’ service, with a strong and established workforce of 15 Child Psychiatrists in Devon and Torbay. The service is particularly interested in modelling the job in line with the successful candidate’s special interest and working preference. Devon CAMHS is part of a wider Integrated service within Children and Family Health Devon, delivering a range of health, social and education services for children and young people. We are a large and progressive CAMH service which values diversity. We are committed to continual service improvement, participation and the use of routine outcome measures to inform our practice. The service model aims to actively promote prevention, early intervention and opportunities for children, young people and their families to build resilience and to stay well, whilst also providing evidence based, outcomes focussed interventions to enable children to recover, to maintain their best quality of life and to reach their potential

This post will be based in Barnstaple working with other consultants across a number of pathways. There’ll be opportunities for the candidate to develop / pursue their special interest, and provide medical leadership in an area of expertise, e.g. Eating Disorders, Neurodevelopmental disorder, Developmental Trauma etc.
