This opportunity is for a highly motivated Registered Mental Health Nurse to join Mendip CMHS, with a keen interest in administering medication and undertaking physical health checks for clients with severe and enduring mental health problems within a community mental health team.
The successful post holder will work alongside a team to ensure physical health monitoring parity for patients and support treatment process. There will be an opportunity to offer psychological interventions and Dialogue assessments to support the wider team.
You will be working for a developing service which is challenging the traditional boundaries between primary and secondary care, with the ethos of no wrong door.
There is an expectation that the successful applicant will be phlebotomy and ECG trained or willing to work towards.
Main duties of the job
Personal responsibility will be paramount and this role will have oversight from a higher-banded registrant who will ensure a guided approach to all professional duties via supportive supervisory sessions. The higher-banded registrant will act as a mentor to this role.
The post holder will liaise and work in partnership with voluntary agencies, GPs, acute inpatient services, home treatment teams, other community mental health services, primary care, out of hours GP service, Emergency Duty Team, Community Directorate, housing providers, substance misuse services, NHS Direct and the Safeguarding Children Team.
