If so we need you:
We are actively seeking applications for band 6 posts from staff with a professional qualification in Mental Health Nursing. Experience in working with CYP in Mental Health, Autism or Learning Disability services would be beneficial
Following extensive investment as part of National and Local Sustainability and Transformation planning, the CAMHS Intensive Support Team are expanding and transforming our current Intensive Outreach Team to develop a robust flexible Intensive Support Team, offering Community based Mental Health Intensive Support for our Children & Young People (CYP) and families in South Staffordshire within their localities ; with additional investment for the future to offer the addition of Crisis response and brief intervention to create a full Crisis Response and Intensive Support Service.
In MPFT Children and Families Mental Health Function, we work with young people who have a wide range of needs in an inclusive way. Our model places our young people’s needs at the heart of what we offer to ensure that they are getting the best care possible. The Intensive Support Team offers: support and intervention for young people with high risk and complex mental health needs in an intensive time bound way. We recognise the CYP’s home or community environment as being an important part of their recovery therefore working as part of the multi-disciplinary team the post holder will assess the need of CYP presenting to services, delivering safe and effective interventions for CYP and their families in their communities and in places of safety, working to avoid hospital admission and manage complex risks, in accordance with recognised clinical guidance.
If you have the passion and motivation for working with CYP we would love to hear from you. Experience of working in CAMHS is not essential (although beneficial) as you will have the opportunity to expand your skill set and integrate with our core services. We offer learning and development opportunities such as shadowing and specialist supervision, and consultation from others working with CYP & Families.
The team are currently working 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday however we are hoping to be offering support to CYP and families 8am-10pm, 7 days per week, and 365 days per year once we are fully operational.
We are looking for full time and part time staff and may be able to offer flexibility in working days/hours to meet the needs of the service as well as offering greater work life balance for staff.
We want our children and young people to have the best practitioners possible to support their needs in the right place at the right time; as such we will consider offering relocation packages where appropriate.
What our CYP and families have said about us so far:
“I thought the service I received was great and I really appreciate the support as I’ve come so far since this service got involved”
“They listened well and helped me realise it’s okay not to be okay”
“The fact they listened to me and supported me through my hardest time and stayed involved every step of the way”
“Extra support and regular appointments”
“The flexibility to increase/decrease care as necessary”
“They listened to me and were patient with me when I found it difficult to talk”
